Photo walks will be conducted in English.

During the photo walk you will be exploring the beauty of your surroundings and capturing it through photography. Our experienced photographer Michael Goldrei will be leading the way, sharing tips and techniques for capturing stunning images. During this workshop, our photographer will be pointing out interesting subjects and compositions, and offering guidance on techniques. It includes an introductory iPad presentation on street photography of approx. 15 mins.You can bring any kind of camera as long as you know how to use it (it's not a workshop on how to use a camera or flash): digital, analogue, mobile phone. As you explore, you'll have the opportunity to practice your photography skills and experiment with different angles and perspectives. You'll also have the chance to ask questions and learn from our photographer's expertise.
This free workshop is suitable for photographers of all levels, whether you're a beginner or an experienced professional. Whether you're looking to improve your skills, or just want to spend some time enjoying the beauty of our capital Brussels.
British, Austrian & Irish street & documentary photographer Michael Goldrei originally hails from the UK and now lives in Vienna, Austria. His work shows the humour, mundanity and colour of everyday life and has been featured by The Guardian, BBC, Time Out, andVogue Italia's PhotoVogue.
Self-taught, he runs the Shoot Vienna series of street photography walks, and is the founder of Optic Nerve, an international street photography collective which aims to keep a balance of genders for its members. He has been a finalist at street photography festivals in Miami, London, Italy, Brussels, San Francisco, and Dublin. He has worked asa Stills photographer on a British horror film.
He has published two books, 'chromorama’ (2018) and ‘Hoods’ (2019). A series of zines of his work was launched in 2022 under the imprint Eggs Press. All of these publications are included in the Tate Library & Archive at Tate Britain and the OstLicht Gallery in Vienna.
