You can head over to the open call page and find all information including the terms and conditions there, or you can read the terms and directions directly here.
No, the photos may be taken anywhere in the world. All this information you can find on our open call page and in the terms and conditions.
Go to the open call page, read the open call text and contest rules carefully.
Make sure each image is a maximum of 5MB, has the correct file format (jpeg) and is named correctly.
For example, the name of each file must consist of the photographer's first and last name, followed by a number. You write this down as follows: Firstname_Surname_Numbering.jpg. Photos that do not comply with this will automatically be excluded from the competition.
The call for entries for BSPF ‘24 begins on January 3rd and ends on March 24th, 2024.
If you've received a confirmation e-mail (containing all your details, the names of your submitted photos and the payment method), then we have successfully obtained your entry. However, if you did not receive an e-mail, please check your spam box first. In the event you do not find the confirmation in there either, please send an email to contest@bspfestival.org and we will check your entry.
There is only 1 Brussels award and only finalist photos are eligible for this contest.
All photographers selected as finalists will be asked to send us the year and place where the photo was taken. Photographs in both the Series and Singles competitions that were taken in Brussels automatically stand a chance of winning this prize.
In this case photos in the Series contest will be judged individually.
Pictures should be taken between January 2021 and now. Our aim is to stimulate street photographers to create and submit new work.
No, photos should be taken with a digital, analog camera or cell phone. For submission through our website, analog images must be digitized.
The proceeds from these open calls cover only part of the production costs of our festival and without them there would be no BSPF. Therefore we cannot offer free participation. However the festival itself, all exhibitions and activities (except the workshops) are free of charge.
We also organize a free open call, the Photomarathon, for pictures taken during a set 24 hours in Brussels Capital Region. All information (date, rules, ...) regarding the Photomarathon will be shared soon.
All photos submitted for the Singles contest will be manually added to the online audience award platform by BSPF, as long as they meet all the conditions stated in our terms and conditions. This may take up to 72 hours after submission. If after those 72 hours your photos are not on the platform, please send an e-mail to contest@bspfestival.org
The selection of the finalists will take place online from March 26th to April 5th, 2024. Photographers selected as finalists during the first round will be notified via email by April 17th, 2024.
No, you can participate in all contests, but only once in each contest.
